Manthey will compete in the 2025 DTM with three Porsche 911s

29.01.2025

All good things come in threes: In the 2025 DTM season, Manthey is expanding its involvement in the series and entering three Porsche 911 GT3 R for the first time. Two of the three drivers from the 2023 championship-winning team remain unchanged: Thomas Preining (Austria), 2023 DTM champion, starts his third season with Manthey EMA, while Ayhancan Güven (Turkey) is in his second year with the Nürburgring-based team. New to the team is 19-year-old Morris Schuring, who will compete for the Manthey Junior Team. The youngest Dutchman in the history of the series will make his DTM debut at the season opener in the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben from April 25th to 27th. The two Porsche works drivers Preining and Güven will remain with the team as experienced campaigners, once again at the wheel of a Porsche 911 GT3 R sporting the iconic Grello livery. Güven will continue to compete with car number 90, while Preining will aim for success with the number 91. Manthey will present the design of Schuring's 911 at a later date. “While our expectations were not met in 2024, we were very satisfied with our team performance and are pleased to be represented in the DTM with an even stronger line-up in 2025. In our third season in the series, we want to go on the offensive again,” explains Nicolas Raeder, Managing Director of Manthey Racing GmbH. “I am pleased that Ayhancan and Thomas will remain with our team and hope that this year's results will reflect the very good cooperation. Morris had a very successful WEC season in 2024. He is a young driver who has impressed us with his performance, so the next logical step is now the DTM.” Thomas Preining celebrated one victory last year and finished the championship in fifth place. In his fourth season in the DTM, he wants to fight for the title again: “I'm happy that everything stays the same and that we continue to work together as a team. I believe that consistency is extremely important in our sport and it helps tremendously when you can work with the same people over the years. We grow ever closer and we will try to make use of that this year. We have had many great moments together as a team. 2024 was certainly a difficult season for us, but that's part of it and ultimately makes us stronger. Now we are coming back with a clear goal: we want to be champions again!” Ayhancan Güven is hungry for more trophies after his first podium for Manthey EMA in the season finale: “I'm excited to continue competing with Manthey in the DTM in the 2025 season! Last season did not meet our expectations. However, we have improved a lot over the course of the year, especially in the second half of the season, when I was also able to celebrate my first podium with the team in the DTM. That will be our starting point for 2025. I know what we are capable of and what results we can achieve, and our goals are ambitious. Preparations are going smoothly and I can't wait for the new season to start!” For Schuring, competing in the DTM is a dream come true: “The DTM has always been a series I wanted to race in. It's a dream come true, and I'm really proud to do it with Manthey. The team proved that it is one of the best by winning the 2023 DTM title. Last year we won Le Mans together and I am very happy that we are now also working together in a sprint series. I love sprint races and in the DTM I have the chance to really prove myself as a driver. Thanks to my time in the Porsche Carrera Cup, I know seven of the DTM tracks – only the Norisring will be new to me. I am highly motivated and have worked very hard over the winter to prepare myself as well as possible. I am also proud to call Ayhancan and Thomas my teammates. I know them from previous races, both are strong drivers and I respect them very much.”

Timetables for 24h and 24h Qualifiers published

13.12.2024

Before the end of the year, the organisers of the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring published the timetable for the major event from 19–22 June 2025. This means that everyone involved – active participants, fans and, of course, the organisers themselves – can start planning for the coming year early. As usual, the program will be extensive and will once again offer everything from historic racing to high-tech cars in the 24-hour field, providing exciting motorsport on the legendary Nordschleife. The timetable for the ADAC 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers from May 24th to 25th, 2025 has also been published. The Prologue weekend, the season highlight of the 24h four weeks later, will also be part of the NLS (Nürburgring Endurance Series) next year, ensuring numerous attractive entries and exciting racing in the two four-hour races. The schedules are now available on the 24h race homepage. The biggest change in the program of the legendary 24h race awaits spectators during the practice days on Thursday and Friday. As usual, the Thursday program will be dominated by the two 24-hour qualifying sessions, which together take up more than five hours of time. In the evening battle for the best lap times, the first 15 minutes are reserved exclusively for the SP9 participants – the GT3 racing cars. Only after that is the track open to all participants for the atmospheric night qualifying session, which lasts until 23:30. Traditionally, this is the first atmospheric highlight of the event weekend. The reason for this change in detail can be explained by looking at the Friday program: the top qualifying session, in which the fastest participants fight for pole position in a single time trial, is scheduled for midday. Those responsible for the regulations are currently working on a new, simplified mode for this part of qualifying, which is to be adopted by the time the announcement is published in January. The plan is to create a process that provides additional transparency and thus increases the sporting excitement. The third qualifying session will then take place on Friday afternoon, where the focus will be on the participants who are fighting for the starting positions behind the fastest cars in the field. For them, the new qualification mode will bring increased attention. Key points for an attractive supporting program have been setIt won't just be the 24-hour sessions that keep the crowds glued to the track during the season's highlight; the supporting program, the sporting part of which has now also been finalized, will ensure that. The highlight, of course, continues to be the ADAC 24h-Classic. The huge field of youngtimers and Anhang-K classic cars will be causing a stir on the track for two and a half hours on Saturday morning. The first races will take place much earlier, namely on Thursday: after the traditional warm-up with the RCN (Rundstrecken Challenge Nürburgring) performance test in the morning, the touring car legends will kick off the action with the first of a total of three races. The battles between the racing cars from the former DTM, STW and other legendary series on the Grand Prix circuit are undoubtedly among the crowd favorites. The Cup and Touring Car Trophy will also hold their first race on Thursday. On Friday, both series will then frame the qualifying sessions of the 24-hour race and the 24-hour Classic race with further races. On Saturday, there will be another touring car legends race before the starting signal is given at 4:00 p.m. for the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring! In addition to the sporting events, many other highlights are planned for the 2025 supporting program. After all, program items such as the Falken Drift Show on Friday evening or the big autograph session with all the teams are just as much a must for numerous visitors as the show acts during the starting lineup or the numerous attractions throughout the event grounds. Two NLS races upgrade 24h QualifiersThe ADAC 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers from May 23rd to 25th, 2025 not only form the prologue for the actual 24h a month later. The two four-hour races on Saturday and Sunday will also count as the fourth and fifth rounds of the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS). This increases the sporting value and should ensure a full field of participants. Visitors will also experience more action on the track: the race weekend will kick off with three hours of testing and setup sessions on Friday afternoon. After qualifying for the first four-hour race on Saturday afternoon (start: 5:30 p.m.), the track will be the RCN's for three and a half hours. On Sunday, it's one thing after another: after qualifying in the morning, the fastest teams go into top qualifying and thus into the battle for pole position. At 1:00 p.m., the starting field is then sent into the second qualifier race of the weekend - which not only promises NLS points, but also the very last test under competitive conditions before the 24-hour race in June.

Mustang GTD Laps Nürburgring Faster Than Any Car from an American Brand

10.12.2024

Germany’s iconic Nürburgring Nordschleife is the gold-standard for sports car development. And the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD is the first car from an American brand to complete a lap in under seven minutes.  Driven by Multimatic Motorsports driver Dirk Müller, the 815-horsepower Mustang GTD lapped the circuit nicknamed “The Green Hell” in an officially certified 6:57:685. It’s the fifth fastest time by a stock production sports car  and Mustang GTD is only the sixth vehicle in that class to break the seven-minute barrier. The time delivers on the goal laid out by CEO Jim Farley at the Mustang GTD’s debut in August 2023.  “The team behind Mustang GTD took what we’ve learned from decades on the track and engineered a Mustang that can compete with the world’s best supercars,” said Jim Farley, Ford president and CEO. “We’re proud to be the first American automaker with a car that can lap the Nürburgring in under seven minutes, but we aren’t satisfied. We know the Mustang GTD can set a faster Nürburgring lap. We’ll be back.”  Mustang GTD’s Nürburgring success is due to the work of a small, dedicated team of engineers and designers who worked tirelessly over the course of two years to turn the Mustang GT3 race car into the first-ever Mustang supercar. Ford documented their efforts in the run up to the timed Nürburgring run in The Road To The Ring, a 13-minute documentary that covers the challenge, drama, and excitement of developing Mustang GTD. The documentary, which is available on Ford.com, the Ford YouTube channel, and Facebook is a behind-the-scenes look at the testing of Mustang GTD, from iconic American tracks like Sebring, through to development sessions at the Nürburgring. It features Farley, Muller, Multimatic Chief Technical Officer Larry Holt, Mustang GTD Chief Program Engineer Greg Goodall, and Mustang GTD Design Manager Anthony Colard, as well as other members of the Ford and Multimatic team. Mustang GTD represents the apex of Mustang performance and benefits from lessons learned by the Ford Performance Motorsports and Multimatic Motorsports Mustang GT3 program, in particular around aerodynamics and setup for tracks such as the Nürburgring. However, Mustang GTD isn’t subject to the rules and regulations of GT3 racing, which prohibit much of the technology that allow a sub-seven-minute Nürburgring lap. That includes carbon-ceramic brakes, active aerodynamics, a supercharger, and semi-active suspension. A carbon-fiber body is familiar from GT3 racing, and while the Mustang GTD that completed the sub-seven-minute lap was entirely stock, it did include motorsports-derived safety gear mandated by the Nürburgring. That includes a competition seat with a five-point harness and a roll cage.

06.12.2024

This is what many fans of the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring have been urgently waiting for: advance ticket sales for the Nordschleife highlight from June 19-22, 2025 are now open. Visitors can look forward to a number of new features. As part of the exclusive collaboration with the Nürburgring ticket portal, digital tickets and Print@Home tickets are also available for the first time this year. This makes visiting the event just as easy as the new“Raceticket”, which replaces the day ticket for Saturday and is valid for both Saturday and Sunday. Other new features include the option of reserving a parking space on site and a camping area in advance – limited contingents will be reserved in advance for both. The Family & Friends camping and parking offers will go on sale at a later date. The popular bundles are also already being prepared, so the combination ticket with the legendary 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps will be on offer again. Those who don't want to miss the prologue to the 24h Nürburgring can also secure their tickets for the ADAC 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers from May 24th to 25th, 2025, with immediate effect. Information, prices and the link to the ticket shop are now available here and at www.24h-rennen.de. Ticket purchase is becoming more digital and therefore even easierTwo important innovations make it even easier for visitors to the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring to attend the season's highlight at the Ring. The new race ticket, valid from Saturday to Sunday, eliminates the question of when day visitors need a new ticket during the race night. Like all other tickets, it is Print & Home tickets are now also available as an alternative. From 2025, tickets can also be stored on mobile devices. This allows ticket sales to continue in the online store up to the days of the event. Visitors can also purchase tickets on the spot via their mobile device. However, there is still a advance sale discount, so that tickets cost five euros more on the days of the event. From 2025, visitors will only need to present the code printed on the ticket (or stored on their cell phone) at the entrances to get into the event grounds for the first time. After scanning the tickets, the familiar visitor wristbands will continue to be issued as tickets. As soon as the ticket code has been scanned, the code will no longer be valid. Parking and camping can be booked in advance from JanuaryIt has long been tradition for visitors to organize themselves around the Nordschleife – the many groups and individual visitors turn the longest racetrack world into a gigantic festival site that is extremely atmospheric. There, first come, first served also applies. This tradition will continue in the future, but the range of offers at the world's biggest race is growing: from 2025, the new “Family&Friends Area” will be available on parking area C3 at the Müllenbachschleife. There will be camping and tickets at an all-inclusive price for all visitors who prefer a quieter environment during the event – also ideal for families with children. For example, private generators are not allowed in this area; instead, an “all-inclusive package” with electricity, sanitary facilities and Wi-Fi is being planned. The offer will also be bookable online in good time before the Nürburgring 24 Hours. In the past, visitors have often expressed the wish to reserve parking spaces, for which the technical requirements have now been created: in 2025, there will be a limited opportunity to book a parking space in advance. The advantage of the Nürburg site is that visitors arriving there have the opportunity to avoid the traffic congestion around the start and finish. For the first time, all parking tickets will also be equipped with a code that is scanned at the entrance. The aim is to achieve an improvement in terms of arrival, spectator guidance and parking management. Tickets are expected to be available for booking from mid-January. Prices for the 24h Qualifiers will remain the sameTickets for the ADAC 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers from May 24th to 25th, 2025, went on sale online at the same time as tickets for the 24h Nürburgring. The big 24-hour prologue will continue to be part of the NLS, which means additional participants, greater variety and even more action. Next year, the ticket regulations will also be aligned with those of the NLS. Accordingly, there will be ticket checks at the fan hotspots at the Nordschleife in the future, and camping visitors will also incur costs. In line with the NLS, day visitors will pay 25 euros for an admission ticket that is valid at the Nordschleife, in the paddock and all open grandstands. Emotional trade fair appearance with Green Hell, Mercedes-AMG ONE and Gercollector

27.11.2024

The fascination of Green Hell at the Essen Motor Show (30.11. – 8.12.). The Nürburgring is presenting itself in Hall 3 with an emotional staging around legendary asphalt, high-tech and the art of engineering. As a powerful eye-catcher, a hypercar is in the spotlight twice at booth 3B24: during the opening weekend, the Mercedes-AMG ONE from the collection of the well-known automobile influencer Gercollector will thrill fans. From the halfway point of the show, the original Mercedes-AMG ONE that set the record for production vehicles on the legendary Nordschleife can be admired here. In addition, the trade fair appearance of the year-round leisure and event location offers fascinating insights into the digitalization of the legendary Nordschleife, virtual laps in the simulators of the Nürburgring eSports Bar, as well as exclusive offers such as fan articles or credits for tourist rides. Also available: the popular, free Nürburgring wall calendar with all dates for 2025. At the stand, the Nürburgring is also focusing on another key topic: safety on the track. A compact replica of the “Nordschleife Monitoring Center” gives visitors insights into one of the most modern and comprehensive safety projects in the history of the race track. The AI-supported monitoring system, which was set up over the past three years and uses over 100 cameras, ensures the highest level of safety on the most demanding race track in the world. The image signals, with which the entire Nordschleife can be monitored, converge in the Monitoring Center. The new safety standards benefit users such as tourist drivers who are looking forward to unforgettable laps in the Green Hell. At the trade fair, they can top up their credit for future trips directly at the Nürburgring stand for the first time, thus already whetting their appetite for the coming season. Those who don't want to wait until the first opening of the barriers in 2025 can take a few virtual laps at the race track stand in Hall 3. The fully movable simulators of the Nürburgring eSports Bar promise a realistic driving experience. And for those who want to take a piece of the Nürburgring home with them, the small ring°fanshop offers merchandise and exclusive trade fair offers. Fans can also test their knowledge of the Nordschleife in the Nürburgring's competition and win attractive prizes. Another highly visible element of the stand makes the diversity of the Nürburgring tangible. An LED wall displays impressive images and productions related to the Nürburgring as a destination – from the production company Nürburgring TV to the Nürburgring hotels and holiday park, the diverse Nürburgring atmosphere from major events as well as driving and adventure offers comes directly to the trade fair.

Construction work at the Nürburgring has begun

25.11.2024

In the coming months, the construction machines at the Nürburgring will be back at full throttle. The annual winter construction work has begun. While a total of around 1.3 kilometers of asphalt will be replaced on the Nordschleife, various maintenance measures are planned for the Grand Prix circuit. At the same time, construction of the new exit for tourist drivers at Döttinger Höhe has begun. In total, the Nürburgring is investing 2.5 million euros this winter to prepare the world-famous track for the 2025 season. On the Nordschleife, the asphalt work this year is focused on two sections of the track. In the Pflanzgarten area, 1.15 kilometers of the track will be renovated from the so-called Eiskurve. In the Kesselchen area, 180 meters of asphalt will be renewed in the right-hand bend just before the “Steilstrecke” section. These measures include the complete renewal of the asphalt surface in order to preserve the unique characteristics of the track while at the same time meeting safety requirements. At the same time, extensive maintenance work is being carried out on the Grand Prix circuit and in the adjacent paddock. To ensure that the versatile event areas continue to offer the best conditions for a smooth running of events ranging from the 24-hour race to Rock am Ring and from the Truck Grand Prix to Rad am Ring, drainage channels, cabling ducts, hydrants and shafts, among other things, are being modernized. New exit for tourist driversA key project this winter is the construction of an additional exit at Döttinger Höhe. This measure is intended to significantly reduce the potential for congestion during the popular tourist trips. In the future, on busy days, it will be possible to exit directly onto the parallel L93 after completing a lap. “The schedule for all three parallel measures is again very tight,” explains Alexander Schnobel, the long-standing project manager for the construction work at the Nürburgring. “Just a few days ago, the season finale of the endurance series and the last day of the Touristenfahrten took place here – now the construction machines have taken over the track. The goal is to hand everything over in perfect condition for the new season. As in motorsport, the same applies here: top performance in the shortest possible time, in all weathers.” All the work should be completed by the beginning of March so that the 2025 season can start at the Nürburgring in good time. The Nürburgring had already communicated the event calendar for the coming year in September. The first race will be the ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series on March 22. Traditionally, tourist drivers are allowed on the track during opening hours in the days leading up to the race. The Nürburgring traditionally announces these dates, eagerly awaited by Nordschleife fans, in December.
