- Linkin Park, Iron Maiden, Volbeat and many more thrill audiences at the Nürburgring
- blink-182 confirmed as first headliner for 2027
Rock am Ring celebrated its 41st edition with an outstanding festival weekend, once again proving why it has remained one of Europe’s most important live events for decades. A total of 90,000 fans gathered at the Nürburgring to experience three days filled with music, energy and unforgettable festival moments.
International top acts including Linkin Park, Iron Maiden, Volbeat, Bad Omens, Limp Bizkit, Sabaton and Papa Roach delivered memorable performances against an impressive backdrop. One of the highlights of the weekend was the return of Linkin Park to the Ring for the first time in twelve years. Papa Roach also created one of the most extraordinary moments of the entire festival when they arrived by helicopter directly behind the stage before their performance.
Another major highlight followed shortly afterwards: to the cheers of tens of thousands of fans and accompanied by a spectacular fireworks display, blink-182 were announced as the first headliner for Rock am Ring 2027. With this announcement, the festival fulfilled a long-standing wish of many visitors. After more than four decades of festival history, the Californian pop-punk icons will make their first-ever appearance at Rock am Ring in 2027 – one of the most requested debuts in the festival’s history.
Matt Schwarz, promoter of Rock am Ring, drew a positive conclusion: “A weekend like this reminds us why we organize festivals. Ninety thousand people transformed Rock am Ring into a unique city of music, friendship and passion. The energy across the site was extraordinary from the first moment to the last. With blink-182, we have also succeeded in bringing one of the most requested acts in the festival’s history to Rock am Ring for the very first time. It is hard to imagine a better outlook for 2027.”
Emergency services and local authorities also reported a positive outcome. Despite changeable weather conditions, the festival weekend remained peaceful and ran smoothly from an organizational perspective.
Following a record-breaking sold-out year, advance ticket sales for Rock am Ring 2027 will begin on Tuesday, 9 June 2026, at 12:00 noon.
