The FIA World Rallycross Championship will not be held at the Nürburgring until November, postponing the German race originally scheduled for July. By making this decision, the racing series wants to give the teams the maximum time to prepare for the new electric era of the sport. The Nürburgring will therefore host the World RX season finale from November 12-13. With not one but two World Championship races, a so-called double-header will be held in the Müllenbachschleife of the Grand Prix Track. Originally, only one WRC race was scheduled for the Nürburgring. Tickets for the event will retain their validity. pre-sales continue unabated for the new date.

"Teams have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to make the switch to electric drive, but global events over the last few years have caused supply chain issues and therefore unforeseen delays in building the cars" announces World RX in its statement. "Therefore, in order to duly introduce this new generation of rallycross cars, it has been decided to give the teams two more weeks to perfect their preparations."

World RX will switch entirely to electric power in the main category this year as the series moves toward a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future. The cars will be the most powerful and spectacular ever seen in the championship. They will produce 500 kW – the equivalent of 680 hp – and have an instant torque of 880 Nm, resulting in breathtaking acceleration that surpasses even Formula 1.

Fans will now not be able to experience the fascination of the new vehicles until November at the Nürburgring. In return, the new date promises a gripping season finale. "We had great races last year and a title fight that remained exciting right to the end. While it's a shame that we won't be able to experience the first round of the sport's new electric era at our venue, we're happy to now host the season finale again – now with double the action on the track," says Ingo Böder, Managing Director of Nürburgring 1927 GmbH & Co. KG. "We hope that the spectators will experience a similarly close battle this year – and perhaps the new date in November will mean that there will be a bit of snow again to increase the excitement."
