ring°guide VLN #7: Everything a fan needs to know

The VLN Endurance Championship Nürburgring is having the seventh race of the year this weekend. It is the traditional ADAC Reinoldus Langstreckenrennen of Dortmund Motorsport Club in ADAC. 164 cars are on the preliminary starting list of the 4-hour-race.



More than a dozen bolide are fighting for the top place on the winner’s podium. Falken Motorsports and Frikadelli Racing are each sending a Porsche 911 GT3 R to the race, Manthey sends together with GT3 R a new GT3 RS. Haribo Racing, Black Falcon und Landgraf Motorsport are planning to win with a Mercedes AMG GT3. For BMW, Schubert and Walkenhorst Motorsport, as well as Schnitzer, are going to launch either in BMW M6 or in Z4 GT3. Ferrari 488 GT3 of the Wochenspiegel Team Monschau, the Renault R.S.01 as well as a Nissan GT-R Nismo – at the wheel the touring cars fan’s favorite Tom Coronel – also have everything it takes to win.
There is a dense crowd behind it: around 50 BMW and as many Porsche automobiles in diverse classes are participating - from Porsche Carrera Cup-Class to BMW i235 Racing-Cup. Cars from Audi, VW, Seat, Peugeot und Opel are going to participate in the TCR-class.



Saturday is a racing day for VLN. The pilots are going to drive out from 8:30 to 10:00 for qualifying session. The starting signal for the 4-hour-race even starts at 12:00. It is worth visiting on Friday already: in the morning the drivers are going to practice on the Grand-Prix circuit and starting at 16:00 the Nordschleife will be open for 2 hour practice.



  • 08:30 - 14:00: Practice on GP-circuit
  • 16:00 - 18:00: Practice on Nordschleife


  • 08:30 - 10:00: Qualifying practice
  • 11:00 - 11:40: Starting grid
  • 12:00 - 16:00: Race

Motorbike fans have to visit the Reinoldus Longdistance-Cup (RLC). It’s a six hour race at the GP circuit with many participants and a Le Mans-style start. There is no entrance fee. Start is at 11.15 am.

The ring°werk, the Nürburgring’s large indoor theme park, is open on friday, saturday and sunday from 10:00 to 17:00.



The ring°kartbahn is open on Friday from 17:00 to 22:00, on Saturday from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 17:30 to 22:00. On Sunday the ring°kartbahn is open from 10:00 to 22:00.
