The Nürburgring and TotalEnergies have entered into a pioneering partnership for the expansion of electromobility. As an official e-mobility partner, TotalEnergies Charging Solutions Deutschland GmbH is building and operating an extensive charging infrastructure at the Nürburgring, including access roads, paths and parking spaces for electric vehicles. For the start of the season, the existing charging infrastructure has now been supplemented by two fast charging points on the B 258, directly opposite the centrally located info°center of the Nürburgring. At the four high-power charging points (HPC) with a charging capacity of 150 to 300 kW, drivers can charge their electric cars for up to a further 300 kilometers within 30 minutes. In a further expansion stage, a roof will also be installed to ensure convenient use even in the rain. The new fast-charging stations complement the existing AC charging infrastructure at the Nürburgring, which was also installed by TotalEnergies. A total of 18 charging points are already available at various locations such as the Nürburgring parking garage below the ring°boulevard, in the parking garage of the Nürburgring Congress Hotel as well as at the Nürburgring Motorsport Hotel and in the Nürburgring Ferienpark.Jan Petersen, Managing Director of TotalEnergies Charging Solutions Germany: "The cooperation with the Nürburgring underlines our strategic commitment to the expansion of electromobility in Germany. As part of an international multi-energy company, we are a strong partner and, in addition to investment and construction, we also ensure the ongoing operation, maintenance and servicing of the charging infrastructure at the site." With this cooperation, TotalEnergies is consolidating its role as an important player in the field of electromobility. In September 2023, the company was awarded the contract for the construction and operation of 1,100 fast-charging points nationwide as part of the tender for the German network. In February 2024, it was awarded the contract for a further 166 fast-charging points along freeways. The company currently operates a network of over 5,000 charging points in Germany. Christian Stephani, Managing Director of Nürburgring 1927 GmbH & Co. KG: "The Nürburgring stands for performance and mobility and their development like hardly any other location in Germany. That is why it is important to us that we can offer our visitors, overnight guests and those passing through a strong charging offer. In addition to the AC charging points, the fast-charging stations that have now been put into operation are the next step in making our charging infrastructure even more attractive. The collaboration with TotalEnergies has been an absolute partnership."

Easter 2024 at the Nürburgring

27.03.2024

There is something for everyone at the Nürburgring around Easter: As is well known, the weekend is traditionally dominated by tourist drives. From Good Friday (March 29) up to and including Easter Monday (April 1), the Nordschleife and Grand Prix circuit open their doors to everyone every day. In addition, there is plenty to experience at the Nürburgring as a destination around Easter and the subsequent vacation period. An overview:Four days of tourist driving in a row: Easter is traditionally also a festival for Nürburgring enthusiasts. Both the Nordschleife and the Grand Prix circuit are open to everyone. Cars and motorcyclists can take to the legendary asphalt all day long - subject to road traffic regulations. Further information on the tourist rides can be found here. But there are also numerous HeartRace moments at the Nürburgring destination off the track at Easter and during the subsequent vacation period: experience family fun on the ring°kart track, marvel at historical exhibits in the ring°werk adventure museum, admire fascinating digital action in the Nürburgring eSports Bar or try on the new Nürburgring collection in the fan store. There is something to experience every day around the ring°boulevard on the Grand Prix Track.  And because all this makes you hungry and thirsty: numerous restaurants at the Nürburgring will make tired men, moms and mini-racing fans feel lively again. Opposite the ring°boulevard, guests are spoiled for choice: LUCIA - Pollo Italiano serves dolce vita and fresh chicken made to an Italian recipe, while the Bitburger Gasthaus next door offers home-style cooking and an outdoor terrace with a great view. The view from the Devil's Diner is at least as good: located on the access road to the Nordschleife on the outskirts of Nürburg, visitors have a perfect view of the action during the tourist races at Easter.

Nürburgring prepared for rush of visitors on Good Friday

22.03.2024

All over Germany, car enthusiasts gather in various public places on Good Friday to share their passion. At the Nürburgring, a large crowd is expected again this year when thousands of visitors gather around the track. The Nürburgring operating company is deploying a team of over 150 stewards, security staff and traffic wardens to support the measures and visitor management of the public order office and the police. A central aspect of the close cooperation is the protection of the region and nature from excessive noise and waste. Although there is no event at the Nürburgring on Good Friday, thousands of people come. The fascination of the world-famous race track has also made it a popular destination for tuners on this day. For the Nürburgring, the public order office and the police, there is therefore one thing above all else on the agenda: to control and educate the many visitors accordingly and to punish any infringements. In order to relieve traffic and the local areas, the B412 will be closed in coordination with those responsible at Nürburgring 1927 GmbH & Co. KG, Landesbetrieb Mobilität, the Ahrweiler district administration and the Mayen police headquarters, the B412 will be opened to through traffic. However, depending on capacity utilization in the Brünnchen and Pflanzgarten areas, traffic may be temporarily closed and diverted. In addition, various traffic circles will be set up so that only straight through traffic is possible. Extensive parking facilities along the Nordschleife and Grand Prix TrackThe Nürburgring will provide extensive parking facilities around the circuit in order to reduce congestion as much as possible. Almost all parking spaces in the A zone near the Grand Prix circuit are open, as well as additional parking spaces in the B zone if required. On the Nordschleife, in addition to the best-known Brünnchen and Pflanzgarten parking lots, other areas in the Schwalbenschwanz and, if all parking areas in Adenau are full, other spaces in the Adenauer Forst will also be open. A large contingent of stewards and additional security personnel will also monitor the ban on barbecues and camping. Traffic violations will be consistently punishedOverall, a high volume of traffic is to be expected in the area of the main access roads to the Nürburgring, in the town of Adenau and in the surrounding villages. The police will be focusing on possible traffic violations, paying particular attention to road safety and vehicle compliance as well as driver behavior. The message from the law enforcement officers is clear: anyone who behaves "out of line" must expect consequences. These may include all-day bans, vehicle seizures or, in individual cases, confiscation of driving licenses. Illegal parking outside designated areas will ultimately lead to the vehicle being towed away for a fee. An overview of the open parking areas: Parking areas Grand Prix Track: A2, A6, A7, A8, A9, A10, B zone if required Parking areas Nordschleife: Brünnchen P96 Pflanzgarten (P97+P98) Schwalbenschwanz P100 Adenauer Forst (opens when all parking areas in Adenau are full)

Maro Engel, who will be competing for Mercedes-AMG Team GetSpeed, also makes no secret of his anticipation: "I can hardly wait to finally complete the first Nordschleife laps again. The restart is something very special every year because the track is simply incredible. We certainly have a lot of work ahead of us this time, as we have a new tire to get used to, for example. But I'm looking forward to finally getting started again together with everyone."

Darts on the Ring thrills 3,500 fans in the ring°arena

17.03.2024

An exuberant "Darts at the Ring Gala" in the ring°arena, two well-attended premiere days of the 2024 Touristenfahrten on the Nordschleife: the Nürburgring got the new season off to a successful start at the weekend. While countless drivers completed their first laps of the year on the asphalt, around 3,500 fans celebrated their darts idols on Saturday evening. Next weekend, the motorsport season opener awaits in the Green Hell. The Nürburgring Endurance Series (NES) will make its debut with free admission for all fans. Ally Pally atmosphere at the Nürburgring: thousands of fans of the flying darts once again transformed the ring°arena into a darts temple at the weekend. Wearing the jerseys of their favorite players or creatively disguised as dwarfs or targets, they experienced exciting matches between the sport's famous stars. Two world champions were among the participants who were celebrated at ringside: While Michael Smith was able to put on the crown of darts in 2023, Luke Humphries, the reigning world champion, also came to the Nürburgring. The latter can already look forward to his next trip to the Eifel. As Humphries, like many others, would like to drive around the legendary Nordschleife, the Nürburgring officials gave him a gift with plenty of horsepower. The reigning darts world champion was invited to co-drive through the famous Green Hell. He will soon be speeding along the 20.832 kilometers - in the passenger seat of the "Beast of the Green Hell", the Mercedes-AMG GT R PRO from the Nürburgring Driving Academy. The darts stars got a little Ring fever before the Darts am Ring gala with virtual laps in the Nürburgring eSports Bar and a seat test in a real formula car. Meanwhile, the darts stars fought exciting duels on the stage of the ring°arena. In crisp, short games based on the "best-of-seven" principle, a large number of matches ended with extremely close results. In the end - how could it be otherwise on a racetrack at the moment - a Dutchman came out on top. Dirk van Duijvenbode was crowned the winner of the Darts am Ring Gala 2024. Children from the region were allowed on stage as "run-in children"Meanwhile, Darts am Ring was a very special experience for four children from the region. Johanna, Leonardo, Moritz and Tom were allowed to join the big stars on stage as "run-in kids". They had won the chance to take part thanks to their creative entries in the Nürburgring painting competition. A moment they are guaranteed not to forget in a hurry. Outlook: NES kicks off the motorsport seasonThe Nürburgring is now set for a fast-paced season: next weekend, the new Nürburgring Endurance Serie invites you to get to know it. In addition to GT racing cars and production-based touring cars on the track, the vehicles and drivers can also be experienced up close in the paddock. In addition, admission to the ring°werk motorsport experience museum and parking are free on both days.

BMW is official vehicle partner of the Nürburgring

16.03.2024

BMW is the new official vehicle partner of the Nürburgring. The service and track safety vehicles for the race track employees will come from the Bavarian car manufacturer at least until 2026. In addition to the existing commitment of the BMW M performance brand at the Nürburgring, the vehicle partnership that has now been agreed represents a further expansion of the collaboration and BMW's presence at the legendary race track. In a first step, a total of 25 new BMWs will strengthen the Nürburgring fleet. Nine of them will be on the track in the future as part of track safety. Eight BMW 330i xDrive Touring and one BMW X1 xDrive23i will be used on the Nordschleife and Grand Prix circuit to ensure safety. For this purpose, the vehicles are given a Nürburgring-specific, eye-catching design with warning elements so that they are clearly visible to all race track users at all times. For example, by tourist drivers or participants in the sports driver training sessions. In future, the 1 Series, 3 Series, X1 and X3 will be available to employees as company cars. In future, these will also be equipped with design elements of the Nürburgring silhouette and the Nürburgring logo, making them attractive figureheads of the versatile event location. Nürburgring already home to the BMW M brandThe vehicle partnership is a further building block for the Bavarian car manufacturer at the Nürburgring. Nürburgring visitors, tourist drivers and television viewers know the BMW M performance brand only too well. Both the BMW M Power Grandstand on the Grand Prix circuit and the BMW M Bridge directly above the start and finish straight, as well as the advertising banner on the "old pit lane" along the Nordschleife, are visible from afar and are an integral part of the Nürburgring's image. In terms of driving activities, the car manufacturer is also one of the most intensive users of the race track with its Driving Experience. In 2021, BMW M also started to establish the Nürburgring as the home of the brand. The centerpiece of this cooperation, which will initially last until 2025, is the BMW M Showroom in the ring°boulevard, which opens to visitors to the Nürburgring on selected dates. The motorsport season at the Nürburgring starts on March 16. Whether on or off the race track. BMW will definitely be clearly visible.

ADAC becomes title sponsor of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie

15.03.2024

The NLS will become the 'ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie' in 2024. The three ADAC regional clubs Westfalen, Mittelrhein and Nordrhein will take over the title sponsorship of the traditional Nordschleife championship. The ADAC Regionalclubs Westfalen and Mittelrhein are deeply rooted in the VLN - the organization behind the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie - either themselves or through local clubs. The ADAC Nordrhein, which as the organizer of the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring has also been shaping endurance racing on the Eifel circuit for many years, is once again joining the series as a partner. "The endurance races at the Nürburgring have always held an important position in the ADAC Westfalen, because in addition to our own sports department and the local clubs from Schwelm, Dortmund and Bochum, many active Westphalians are also involved," says Bernd Kurzweg, Chairman of ADAC Westfalen e.V. The ADAC Mittelrhein is represented in the VLN by MSC Sinzig and MSC Adenau. Chairman Rudi Speich explains: "The Nürburgring is geographically located in our regional club. With our involvement in the VLN, we want to secure the endurance series as a popular sport on the traditional Eifel circuit for the future." Andrea Schmitz, Chairwoman of ADAC Nordrhein e.V., added: "ADAC Nordrhein has been working successfully with the VLN for many years. Together, we have stood for thrilling motorsport in the Green Hell for years and our goal is to continue to do so in the future." Schmitz knows what she is talking about, because in addition to her role as chairwoman, she is also still involved in the race management of the 24-hour race. Mike Jäger, Managing Director of the VLN, is very happy about the new partnership with the ADAC. "With the ADAC Westfalen, the ADAC Mittelrhein and the ADAC Nordrhein, we have had important partners at our side for many years," he says. "Especially in difficult times, it is very reassuring that we can rely on the power of the three regional clubs. This is an important step towards making endurance racing at the Nürburgring fit for the future." Of today's nine VLN shareholder clubs, the Dortmunder Motorsportclub, MSC Sinzig, AC Altkreis Schwelm and the two DMV clubs Renngemeinschaft Düren and MSC Münster were among the founding members of the organizing association in 1976. Endurance races have been held as a series at the Nürburgring since 1977. The ADAC Nordrhein 24-hour race was part of the VLN championship in 1987 and 1988. In 2003, the regional club already hosted a VLN event with the ADAC Eifelrennen. In 2024, the two races of the ADAC 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers will count towards the NLS. The 48th season will kick off on April 6 and 7 with a double-header. The complete calendar comprises eight races on six dates.

Huge program at the 24h Qualifiers

15.03.2024

This will be an exciting race weekend with motorsport from the junior to the top professional leagues: the ADAC 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers on April 13/14, 2024 will not only serve as the traditional last test opportunity for the participants of the 24h Nürburgring before the season highlight at the end of May. The two four-hour races on Saturday and Sunday will also count towards the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) for the first time and should therefore treat fans around the Nordschleife to a great field of entrants. The starting field for the final 24-hour test and double-header of the NLS will not only be impressive in the top class of GT3 cars. There will also be numerous participants in the production car, cup and "24h Special" classes. In addition, there will be hundreds of motorsport drivers competing in the supporting program: Automobile slaloms in the Mercedes Arena are just as much a part of the weekend as the first round of the RCN season as a popular sports league on the Nordschleife. On the old helicopter landing pad in the paddock, hundreds of young kart racers will also compete in youth kart slaloms on combustion and electric karts. No motorsport fan should miss out on this wide range of exciting competitions: Tickets are available from 25 euros (day ticket Saturday or Sunday) here on the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürbrurgring homepage. > More info & tickets Even though the entry deadline for the 24h Qualifiers still runs until the Easter weekend, a first-class sporting event is already on the cards: The two races on Saturday afternoon (start at 17:30) and on Sunday (start at 13:00) will each run for four hours over the same variant of the Nordschleife and Grand Prix circuit that will also be used for the season highlight from May 30 to June 2. In the GT3 class, where the potential winning teams can be found, the top teams are therefore also expected with their works-based models from Audi, BMW, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche. They will be opposed by a whole pack of other beefy GT3s, with Aston Martin, Ferrari and Lamborghini also in the mix as things stand at present. Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus has also announced its return to the 24h Nürburgring and is likely to liven up the action at the Ring again with its spectacular prototype-style racing car. Organizers expect strong line-up of classesA measure devised by the organizing ADAC Nordrhein together with the German Sports Drivers' Association DSK and the motorsport umbrella organization DMSB will provide an additional boost to the starting field: Access to the "Permit Nordschleife", the top license level of which allows drivers in GT3 to take part in the Nürburgring 24 Hours, has been streamlined. Interested top drivers can now complete the training and gain the necessary practical experience on the longest and most beautiful race track in the world during the 24h Qualifiers weekend. This will be of particular benefit to top international drivers, who will no longer have to travel to the Ring several times if they want to take part in the legendary 24-hour race. An important step on their way: taking part in two endurance races on the Nordschleife in one of the "small" classes. This could bring additional participants to the starting field, as could the NLS classification. After all, the tradition-steeped series also impresses with the close competition in the numerous special and production car classes. Not to be forgotten: the Cup classes, in which BWM and Porsche models, for example, compete. The latter compete in their own, highly endowed championship in the "Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring", which has certainly not been short of participants in recent years. Clear the ring for a big weekend of popular sportThere are many exciting facets of amateur and grassroots racing to experience at the ADAC 24h Qualifiers, and visitors are cordially invited to be thrilled by full starting fields and close fights. The RCN, whose three-and-a-half-hour performance test on Saturday after qualifying for the first Qualifiers race is traditionally an important part of the program, will shorten the waiting time in a highly entertaining way. This is because the series, which regularly attracted over 150 participants last year, uses the weekend for the start of the season. A good opportunity to see who has done the best preparation work during the winter break. The automobile slaloms on Saturday and Sunday will also provide a real spectator experience. As the 24-hour version of the track will be used for the qualifiers, the Mercedes Arena will be free on Saturdays and Sundays. This is where the pylon courses will be set up, where the participants will compete for points for the ADAC North Rhine Championship and the regional club's cup competition from the morning. Vehicle control and speed, driving dynamics and precision are required of the drivers in slalom racing, making it a rewarding experience to watch. This also applies to the youth kart slaloms, which will be held on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am. The organizers are currently being inundated with entries, so that in the end almost 200 young drivers will take part in the competitions for combustion karts and electric karts. The course on the "Helipad" in the Grand Prix paddock has been marked out for these youngest drivers of the weekend - all the more reason to stop by the paddock. As in all other open spectator areas, admission is included in every ticket.
