Green Hell Triathlon

After a splendidly successful first edition last year, Green Hell Triathlon organizers had, to their regret, to cancel this year‘s event for lacking registration numbers. "Many potential participants feel insecure about their decision to register because of the insolvency situation the Nürburgring Company is caught in", explains race organizer Uwe Jeschke. "We got a lot of phone calls and mail on this matter." "After the great premiere last year, we were looking forward to presenting an optimized race curse this year", says Jeschke. But with present registration numbers of only some 200, this year‘s Green Hell Triathlon edition is not feasible. It is impossible to establish a sound and reasonable sports event given the necessary costs and efforts for road closures and security measures.

All registered athletes got a mail notification from our side informing them on the various possibilities to get their registration fees reimbursed or use them for one of our other events.

Green Hell Triathlon 2012: Durch die Grüne Hölle gegangen ...

Bei zunächst trockenem, aber sehr windigem Wetter fiel beim ersten Green Hell Traithlon der Startschuss früh morgens am Freilinger See nahe des Eifelstädtchens Blankenheim. Bei der Triathlon-Premiere erwartete die Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer im Anschluss an das Schwimmen ein anspruchsvoller Ritt auf dem Rad zum Nürburgring auf die Nordschleife, bevor auf dem Grand-Prix-Hochgeschwindigkeitskurs mit dem abschließenden Lauf das Finale eingeläutet wurde.
